Sunday culture
Yesterday on a beach in Donegal. Before the heavens fully opened. February 2026.

I’m writing this from my childhood bedroom after one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a while. Sometimes all you need is family and a rainy walk on a rugged beach to fill your cup up. Not much culture has been consumed this week as I’ve been catching up with loved ones in real life.

What I’ve been watching

Week 6 of me banging on about Industry. Not uplifting television yet beautifully crafted stories of the big bad financial world out there.

Also watched the Netflix documentary ‘Being Gordon Ramsay’. I’ve always liked Gordon. Here we get an insight in to his latest bid to expand his empire into 22 Bishopgate in London alongside a glimpse in to his family. Worth a watch.

What I’ve been listening to

Peak joy being front row at a Heated Rivalry themed spin class so, yeah, the Heated Rivalry soundtrack has had a few more airings.

Also hit up the ‘Piano Focus’ channel on BBC Sounds for a soundtrack to relaxation.

Piano Focus - Enchanting piano pieces to support you through the day - BBC Sounds
Ground yourself with this spellbinding mix of classical and contemporary piano music.

What I’ve been reading

Not so much what I’ve been reading but what I’ve added to my (already packed) list. Have had a busy week and only essential words were read but watching Gordon Ramsay talk about his mentor Marco Pierre White made me want to dive in to MPW’s ‘White Heat’.
